Romeo and Juliet Inspired Photo Shoot

Hi dolls! I just saw the photos from the Romeo and Juliet inspired photo shoot that I worked as MUA on. They look great! The photographer is Hannah Woodard of Greenville, SC. She's a great photographer and has gotten off to a great start with her career. The makeup turned out awesome and I am very proud to show off the photos. Below is one of the photos from the shoot. As always, please feel free to comment :)

I'm Back!!

Hi dolls! First I would like to apologize for being MIA for so long! I have been working on new makeup jobs for local photographers and also modeling. I finished up a makeup job last Friday evening for a Romeo and Juliet inspired photoshoot. I haven't seen the photos yet but the makeup looked amazing on the model when I was finished with her (if I do say so myself...hehe). Of course, the model was gorgeous to begin with so that always helps :) I also worked on a fashion show on August 25th. It was fun, but a ton of work. I'm not sure if I will be doing another one of those. The makeup looked great, though, and I got some wonderful photos for my portfolio out of it.

Modeling is going great! The photographer that I have been working with says that I am definitely way ahead of most brand new models with my posing and expressions. He works with tons of local models so I am always very flattered when he says that :) I got the photos from my first shoot on Sept. 4th. They look amazing! There were 1698 photos total so I had a ton to sort through! It was so hard picking my favorites! I actually ended up submitting one of them to a pinup photo contest through the Pinup America Magazine. I will find out if I win on Sept. 21st. I'm really excited but impatient :) I also have another photoshoot with the same photographer this Friday. I'm super excited! I have some awesome new outfits that I think are going to look amazing!

I have received mixed feedback on my photos. Mostly great comments saying they looked great and they love my curves. However, with our twisted perception of what beauty is I have also received a little bit of negative feedback saying that I need to trim down. I'm all for being healthy and I am on a new workout routine that I'm hoping will help me lose some inches on my waist and hips, but for crying out loud I'm a size 8! For some reason, some people believe you have to be a size 2 to be beautiful and sexy. To me that's the furtherest thing from the truth! If you're naturally thin, then that's beautiful, but if you are starving yourself to be a size 2, that's not sexy! Healthy is beautiful, no matter the dress size!

It was a lot of work but it was also a lot of fun! The following photos are 3 looks that I did for models. Hope you all enjoy and as always feel free to comment! :)

First Photoshoot Experience

Hi dolls! I was asked earlier this week to do makeup for a local photoshoot. After speaking with the photographer about his vision for the shoot I agreed to do it. I'm so happy I did because it was so much fun! The photographer wanted something that was a little out of the ordinary, kind of futuristic, but still glamorous. The photoshoot was taking place at the nicest local hotel which is about 150 years old and has a very old-Hollywood glam look to it. It's very ornate, and if you've ever seen the movie Leatherheads starring George Clooney and Renee Zellweger you have seen the hotel, as a portion of the movie was filmed in it. I decided the best route to go would be to do a makeup lace eye-mask with an old-Hollywood style cat eye and wine colored lipstick. I took a risk by doing the lace mask because I had never actually done one. I practiced a couple of times on my arm before going to the shoot Friday evening and it turned out well so I decided to go ahead and try it on the model. I figured "What's the worst that could happen? If it looks bad, it's just makeup and can easily be fixed." Let me tell you I am so glad I took the risk to do the lace mask! It turned out awesome! It was avant garde enough without being over-the-top and was still very glamorous. Both the photographer and model were very happy with the way it turned out and it photographed beautifully! The photographer will be sending me the photos from the shoot to add to my portfolio so I will definitely post them as soon as I receive. Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend! :)

Booked for two fashion shows!

Hi dolls! I'm bursting with excitement right now!! I just found out that I will be working as MUA on two upcoming fashion shows! The first is in a couple of weeks. I'm definitely nervous since it will be my first time working on a fashion show, but I have faith that I will do great. The first show is requesting a strong but subtle eye and lip, so I have some research to do but they are allowing artistic interpretation of what a strong but subtle look is. They're both "trade for" jobs but I will be able to add the photos to my portfolio :) If you guys have any ideas please feel free to comment.
